Azure Support and Consulting for Dallas Businesses
Something in Azure stopped working, or the bill doubled, and the person who set it up has moved on. Dallas businesses in that position do not need a new monthly contract; they need a senior consultant who can find the cause, fix it, and leave the environment documented so it does not happen again.
Our Azure support in Dallas is for the problems that land on a business owner's desk when nobody in-house owns Azure: a backup job that has been failing for weeks, a sudden jump in the monthly bill, a script that stopped signing in, a former employee who still has administrator rights. Edward Pinela, MBA, diagnoses the cause, fixes it, and writes down what changed.
The work is remote, and it starts with a free 30-minute strategy call. Because every environment differs, support work is quoted after a short look at the problem: a written scope and price before anything is changed. Microsoft continues to bill your Azure usage directly.
“Great firm, they understood our company needs really quickly… their approach was very hands on…”

What kind of Azure support do Dallas businesses need?
The City of Dallas counts over 62,000 businesses within its limits, alongside eight Fortune 500 headquarters. The large companies run cloud teams. The thousands of firms below them typically have one IT generalist or an outside provider, and Azure resources that were set up during a project and never revisited.
That is where support requests come from. The table below lists the problems we are most often asked to fix and what the fix involves.
| Problem | Usual cause | What the fix involves |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly bill jumped without warning | Resources left running, unmanaged logs or storage, oversized databases | Cost Management analysis, right-sizing, clean-up, budgets and alerts |
| Scripts or deployments stopped signing in | Mandatory MFA applied to a user account used by automation | Managed identities or service principals with least-privilege roles |
| Backups failing or never restore-tested | Policies never set or broken by a change | Azure Backup policies fixed, a restore test and a recovery note |
| Former staff still have access | Permissions assigned to people instead of roles | Access review, role-based access and a leaver checklist |
| Virtual machine or app reachable from the internet | Open ports or public IPs left from setup | Network rules tightened and Defender for Cloud recommendations applied |
Why did our Azure scripts or tools suddenly stop signing in?
Very often because of Microsoft's multifactor authentication enforcement. Microsoft has been requiring MFA for accounts that create, update or delete Azure resources, first in the Azure portal and then, from October 2025, in the Azure CLI, PowerShell, infrastructure-as-code tools and the REST API, as described in its mandatory MFA documentation. An automation that signs in as an ordinary user with only a password fails under that rule.
The fix is not to switch MFA off. We move each automation to a managed identity or a service principal with only the permissions it needs, put user sign-ins behind Conditional Access, and record every change so your team knows how the automation authenticates from now on.
Is this ongoing support or one-off fixes?
Either, but never a 24/7 contract. We are not a managed service provider: we do not watch dashboards overnight, answer helpdesk tickets or patch laptops. What we provide is senior project support, which Dallas clients use in one of three ways:
- A one-off fix. One problem, diagnosed and solved, with a short written summary of cause and change.
- A health review. Access, exposure, backup, cost and security reviewed together, with a prioritized fix list you can act on with us or alone.
- Planned improvement. The fixes from a review carried out over a few weeks, then handed to your IT provider with a runbook.
What does Azure support cost in Dallas?
Each job is quoted after a short review of the problem, as a written, itemized scope, so you approve a price before work starts. A single sign-in or backup fix is a small job; a full health review followed by the clean-up it recommends is larger. There is no retainer and the strategy call is free.
Azure usage stays on Microsoft's bill. For cost spikes, the first job is usually finding what changed: a resource left running after a test, a storage account accumulating logs, or a database scaled up for a busy week and never scaled back down.
Why Dallas companies call Lightray for Azure support
The person who answers is the senior consultant who does the work. Edward brings 20+ years in technology work and 200+ delivered projects; Lightray holds a 4.9 Google rating and an A+ BBB rating. We do not resell Azure, so a recommendation to delete or downsize something costs us nothing and saves you money.

Frequently asked questions
Can you fix an urgent Azure problem today?
Often within a day or two, depending on what is wrong and what access we can be given. Contact us with a short description; if it is something we can diagnose quickly, we will say so and schedule a screen-share session. We do not offer a guaranteed emergency response time, because we are not a 24/7 provider.
Do you come on site in Dallas?
No, and an Azure fix rarely needs it: the portal, the logs and the billing data are all reachable remotely. We work by screen share in your tenant during Central business hours. Lightray's business address is in Fullerton, California, with no Dallas office or local staff.
We already have an IT provider. Can you help without replacing them?
Yes. Most support work is done alongside an existing provider: they keep helpdesk and devices, we handle the Azure problem they are not set up for, and we brief them on the fix so it stays fixed.
What access do you need?
An account you create with only the permissions the specific job needs, removable when the work is done. A failed backup needs different rights from a sign-in problem, so we ask for the minimum each time rather than standing administrator access.
Can you tell us why the bill went up before changing anything?
Yes. Read access to billing and Microsoft Cost Management is usually enough to trace a spike to the resource, the date and the change behind it. You get that finding in writing first, then decide which fixes to approve.
You Won’t Get Handed Off to Junior Staff.
At most consulting firms, the senior person who sold you shows up for the kickoff — then you get handed to a team of juniors learning on your dime. That’s not how we work.
